Scott Clendaniel and The Year of Beer: Artsy Ales

Scott Clendaniel is a talented oil painter embarking on a passion project celebrating a subject near and dear to our hearts, craft beer. A marathon painter of sorts, Clendaniel will be producing a new work of art every day of 2014 and releasing each piece through his Etsy shop.

Although Clendaniel is a graphic designer, he’s accomplishing the daunting task through means of traditional brush and palette. Working out of his downtown studio in Anchorage, Alaska, Clendaniel now works full time as an artist.

This isn’t Clendaniel’s first foray into the rarely tapped cask of craft beer art, having previously released 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, 99 oil paintings of beer lovingly created over the course of three years.

Clendaniel makes an effort to keep his paintings affordable to the public, believing the craft beer community would rather spend their money on beer. By helping spread his work with the world, however small our message, we hope to prove him wrong.

Here’s just a few of our favorite pieces — all of which we hope to hang above our personal bars,

North Coast Old Rasputin
